Class Notes

This week in class we talked about abstracting the subject matter and using it to create a piece based on the compositional cross. The cross is probably the compositional device used most often in both representational and abstract work. We took an abstract bent using a group of small oranges as our "jumping off" point. The oranges served to inspire but not really inform. Take a look below at how different painters, myself included, chose to interpret the oranges using the "cross" compositional idea.
