Painting in Ruidoso, New Mexico

Here I am painting models in the landscape.

This week (May 6-13) I am painting in Ruidoso, New Mexico with Kim English and friends. This area is so beautiful and we are in a wonderful art retreat setting- but hardly have time to notice because we are doing about 12 paintings a day.
. . . . .and I thought plein air work was tiring.
Here are three great Painters taking a break.

New Work for the ArtWalk

These new pieces were painted in February and March
specifically for the '07 Alamosa Art Walk on Saturday March 24,
and will hang in Jezemel's Bakery from March 22 through the 31st.
I will be doing a plein air painting demo in front of Jezemel's
from 10 am to noon. To get a good look at all of the art venues
join Vivia Lawson in front of Jezemel's at 10 am for an Art Walk Tour.

Winter (cold) Plein Air

'Day After Snow', 16"x12", oil en plein air. An overnight,Spring snow gave the Thursday morning Painting Class a wonderful chance to paint this view from the Rec. Center with snow.

City Ranch Paint Out

'Lounging at the City Ranch 14"x11"oil, plein air. It was a sunny day in February and looks warm, but there was a definate chill in the air. Richard, David, Alec, Jerri and I braved the cold for a great morning.

'Tuesday Morning Pick-up', 8"x10' oil.

'The Back Way', 8"x10', oil.

Class Paint Out in Alamosa

'South of the Tracks', 8"x10, oil, plein air in February. This view looks south from the Alamosa Train depot and it was cold and blustery. Dave, Richard, Karen, Kelly and myself hugged the south side of the building which offered a bit of protection. Spring is on the wind but snow still covered the ground.
