Zapata Aspens

The attractions of this area are so numerous that choosing a spot to paint can be the hardest part. This little pond nestled in the pines was calling but not loud enough. A small stand of aspens framed by pine trees, was just getting hit by the morning sun and I knew that these shapes would be more fun to abstract.

I love the light tipped edges of this piece and the drawing to the right of the canvas...like when you come to an opening in a field that is sheltered and warmer than others with a beam of light shining on one spot...makes you want to spread out a picnic blanket and rest a bit in the sun too. Fabulous colours...blessings, Sheri
